Since 1914 Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County (CCE-Nassau) has responded to the needs of local residents with unbiased, research-based information, tools and education that people have come to depend on and trust. Our programs are developed in direct response to community input, and are based on the most current information available from Cornell and other Land Grant universities from across the nation.

CCE-Suffolk serves Suffolk County with our Agriculture, Marine, Community Education and 4-H Youth Development programs. We are educators, researchers, specialists, and volunteers dedicated to our mission of preserving our county’s vast heritage, protecting our eco-systems, supporting families, and providing our youth opportunities for community service and research-based education in science, technology, engineering and math.

Borella Nursery, is a wholesale only greenhouse operation that was established in 1958. We are a family owned and operated business dedicated to growing quality plants, herbs, veggies, annuals, and perennials right here in Nesconset.  We are known for growing quality plants.  

East Coast Nurseries, Inc. is a full-service, wholesale-only container nursery. As one of the largest container nurseries in the northeastern United States, our plants have become standard inventory in many retail and re-wholesale nurseries throughout Long Island, Westchester county, Connecticut, and the greater New England area. As the nursery industry continues to evolve, we make certain to provide the most exciting and best performing new varieties by trialing new plants here at the nursery. The best ones make it into our catalog; the others never see the light of day. We grow a wide variety of plants for wholesale green industry professionals, including seasonal and holiday, annuals, perennials, container evergreens, succulents, tropicals, vegetables, herbs, and more. We deliver throughout Long Island, the Metropolitan New York area, and Southern New England.

Coastal Greenhouses has approximately 350 acres (both covered and outdoor) of production space at its four facilities. The company employs approximately 600 workers during the peak season, which includes about 300 in-store merchandisers. The company’s customer mix continues to evolve. Today, its roster of customers includes such mass merchants and home improvement retailers as the Home Depot, BJ’s Wholesale Club Stores, Kmart stores, as well as garden centers, supermarkets, re-wholesalers and other retail outlets. The company also sells to landscapers and does some contract growing for other growers.

IPM Labs’ mission is to supply beneficial organisms for the biological control of pests and to support their successful use. We produce 7 species of beneficial organisms and distribute more than 45 other species.IPM Laboratories, Inc. was founded in 1981 as IPM Services and offered pest management and consulting. In 1985 we began producing beneficial insects and incorporated under our current name. In 1988 we published our first catalog and newsletter for the greenhouse and nursery industry. Today we supply beneficial insects and information (in the form of articles, fact sheets and conference presentations) on integrated pest management, individual pests and environments.
